Dive Leader is a grade at which the diver expands his
knowledge to encompass a broader range of skills relating to rescue
techniques and leading dives. Once qualified to this grade the diver
can attend BSAC courses to become and Open Water Instructor.
The diver must be a member of both the BS-AC and
Peterborough Sub-Aqua Club for insurance purposes.

The training for this grade is a set course of:
12 Classroom lessons
7 Open water dives
2 Dry practical lessons
Theory Test
The student will also participate in 20 additional dives
after gaining Sports Diver to become
more familiar with the techniques they are learning.
Equipment:
All trainees are expected to acquire their
own full range of personal diving equipment.
Other equipment can be provided by the club until the course is
completed.
Dive Leader training includes safety and rescue skills
in addition to dive management.
